چکیده
"Purpose: Whole breast radiation therapy (WBRT) with a boost to the tumor bed following con-servative primary surgery in women cancer (BC) plays central role reducing local recurrences and mortality. Volumetric modulated arc (VMAT) technique has been shown allow better dose conformation low levels organs at risk (OARs), compared static fields three-dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT). The aim of this study was evaluate feasibility dosimetric advantages sequential (SB), administered VMAT tech-nique hybrid plans tangential beams for whole treatment. Material methods: BC patients undergoing adjuvant RT from June October 2020 were selected. ESTRO guidelines Clinical Target Volume (CTV) delineation used. Total delivered 60-66 Gy; 50 Gy 2 daily fractions 10-16 fractions. Results: analysis included 31 treated surgery. Hybrid treatment characterized by 3D-CRT plan using medi-olateral lateromedial irradiation Planning (PTV) coplanar arches PTV gener-ated. Dosimetric resulted homogeneous target volumes coverage OARs constraints compliance. As regarding risks contralateral breast, ipsi- lung heart values analysed. Conclusions: In frame RT, showed that performed techniques are feasible terms outcomes. "

Ultrafast treatment plan optimization for volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT).
PURPOSE To develop a novel aperture-based algorithm for volumetric modulated are therapy (VMAT) treatment plan optimization with high quality and high efficiency. METHODS The VMAT optimization problem is formulated as a large-scale convex programming problem solved by a column generation approach. The authors consider a cost function consisting two terms, the first enforcing a desired dose di...
متن کاملVolumetric modulated arc therapy ( VMAT )
New calorimeters Simon Duane, NPL Calorimetry remains the most fundamental method for the measurement of absorbed dose and is the basis of almost all absorbed dose primary standards worldwide. Absorbed dose to water is realised either directly, by using water as the absorbing medium, or indirectly, by using another medium (usually graphite) and determining a factor to convert dose from that med...
متن کاملCommissioning of volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT).
PURPOSE Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) involves the simultaneous use of dynamic multileaf collimator (DMLC) techniques and gantry arcing; appropriate quality assurance is therefore required. This article describes the development and implementation of procedures for commissioning VMAT on a commercial linear accelerator (Elekta PreciseBeam VMAT with MLCi and Beam Modulator heads). MAT...
متن کاملEfficacy of robust optimization plan with partial‐arc VMAT for photon volumetric‐modulated arc therapy: A phantom study
This study investigated position dependence in planning target volume (PTV)-based and robust optimization plans using full-arc and partial-arc volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT). The gantry angles at the periphery, intermediate, and center CTV positions were 181°-180° (full-arc VMAT) and 181°-360° (partial-arc VMAT). A PTV-based optimization plan was defined by 5 mm margin expansion of the...
متن کاملQuantification and modelling of the dosimetric impact of the treatment couch in volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT)
Background: As the volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) becoming a main role of treatment ways, the effect of couch top becomes more significant. It is imperative to re-evaluate the couches that previously may have been considered of no importance during early treatment techniques. The impact of couch top on radiation delivery was explored and the couch model was tested with the aim of reduc...
